Answer:It contains a hydrophobic PTFE membrane rated 0.2 µm for sterilizing-grade filtration.
Answer:The capsule has 2300 cm² effective filtration area and 1½-inch sanitary flange connections.
Answer:It is designed primarily for sterilizing filtration of air and process gases; gas flow, pressure and integrity criteria must match the validated application.
Pall Emflon PFR membrane in a Kleenpak capsule is a hydrophobic PTFE filtration device designed for sterilizing-grade gas and air filtration in biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical processes. The filter incorporates a 0.2 µm-rated Emflon PFR membrane with 2300 cm² effective filtration area and 1½-inch sanitary flange connections. Its hydrophobic membrane supports processing of air or process gases while resisting water penetration under intended operating conditions. The self-contained capsule format reduces the need to install an exposed membrane cartridge in a separate reusable housing. Relevant applications include sterile gas supply, equipment venting and compressed-gas polishing where validated microbial retention is required. Selection should consider gas flow, differential pressure, wetting exposure and the connection configuration. Steam or autoclave compatibility must be evaluated against the applicable sterilization procedure. The specified 2300 cm² surface area and sanitary-flange format distinguish this version from smaller capsules and alternative connection styles.
