Answer:It is a male Kleenpak HT connector with a 13 mm (1/2-inch) hose barb, supplied 25 per box.
Answer:No. It must be installed into a closed single-use assembly and sterilized through a validated process before making sterile fluid-path connections.
Answer:No. Kleenpak HT forms a permanent single-use connection when actuated with its matching female counterpart.
The Cytiva Kleenpak HT male connector is a single-use, high-temperature compatible aseptic connection component for linking separately sterilized fluid pathways in bioprocessing. The male configuration has a nominal 13 mm (1/2-inch) hose-barb interface and is supplied in boxes of 25 connectors. It mates with a corresponding female Kleenpak HT connector to form a permanent connection after the protective strips are removed and the device is actuated. Applications include aseptic transfer between single-use containers, bioreactors and processing equipment. Despite the sterile-connector designation, the components are not supplied sterile. Each connector must first be incorporated into a closed assembly and subjected to a validated sterilization procedure, such as an approved autoclave or gamma process, before use in sterile transfers. Select matching connector gender and tubing dimensions, then follow the defined alignment and actuation steps. The permanent connection should not be reopened or reused. Verify assembly integrity and process compatibility before connecting product-contact systems.
