Answer:The Omega PES membrane is rated at 5 kDa MWCO.
Answer:The T-Series Centrasette cassette provides 2.5 m² of effective membrane area.
Answer:It generally retains larger macromolecules while allowing many smaller solutes to pass; actual recovery depends on the process fluid and operating conditions.
Pall T-Series Centrasette Omega PES is a process-scale tangential flow ultrafiltration cassette with a 5 kDa nominal molecular weight cutoff and a 2.5 m² effective membrane area. The low-cutoff polyethersulfone membrane supports retention of proteins and other macromolecules during concentration, diafiltration and buffer-exchange operations, while small solutes can pass into the permeate. The T-Series cassette format uses engineered feed and permeate flow paths to support mass transfer in production-oriented filtration assemblies. At 2.5 m², the large membrane area is intended for substantially greater processing capacity than small Centramate development cassettes. Selectivity depends on the molecular size and shape of the target molecule as well as operating variables including transmembrane pressure, crossflow and solution composition. A 5 kDa nominal MWCO does not guarantee quantitative retention of every compound above that mass. Compatible cassette holders, gaskets and validated cleaning procedures are essential to reliable operation.
