Answer:Yeasts and molds, including suitable Candida species.
Answer:A relatively high dextrose content of 4% and an acidic pH of approximately 5.6.
Answer:No. It is 500 g of dehydrated granulated medium for preparation of culture plates.
GranuCult Prime Sabouraud 4% Dextrose Agar is a dehydrated granulated culture medium for isolation and cultivation of yeasts and molds. The formulation contains 4% dextrose and has an acidic final pH of approximately 5.6, conditions that favor growth of many fungi in suitable sample matrices. It is used in pharmaceutical microbiology, fungal bioburden work, routine quality control and investigations involving organisms such as Candida species. The package contains 500 g of granulated medium for laboratory preparation rather than pre-poured plates. Reconstitution typically uses 65 g of medium per litre of purified water, followed by preparation steps specified in the approved laboratory procedure. The medium supports fungal cultivation but is not species-specific or sufficient alone for definitive identification. Select appropriate incubation and confirmation methods for the testing objective.
