Answer:10 g of sodium cyanoborohydride, reagent grade, 95%.
Answer:Reductive amination of suitable carbonyl compounds and amines.
Answer:No. It is a single chemical reducing reagent.
Sigma-Aldrich sodium cyanoborohydride is a 95% reagent-grade reducing agent supplied in a 10 g package for controlled chemical synthesis and laboratory reactions. Its formula is NaBH₃CN, molecular weight is 62.84 g/mol, and CAS number is 25895-60-7. The reagent is particularly useful in reductive amination, where imines or iminium intermediates form from suitable carbonyl compounds and amines before reduction to amine products. Its selective reducing behavior can also be used in selected conjugation and carbohydrate derivatization chemistries under suitable conditions. This product is a reactive chemical reagent and not a ready-to-use molecular biology buffer or therapeutic substance. Carefully matched reaction conditions, containment and compatible handling procedures are important because cyanoborohydride chemistry has significant chemical hazards. The supplied material is solid reagent, not a prepared reduction kit.
