Optiseal® Aervent® is a hydrophobic PTFE cartridge for sterile air and gas filtration in bioprocess applications. This configuration uses a 0.2 µm membrane in a 4-inch cartridge format and is supplied as a package of six. The hydrophobic membrane resists wetting by aqueous liquids while allowing gas passage, making the device suitable for vessel venting, compressed-gas filtration, and protection of bioprocess equipment from airborne microbial contamination. Microorganisms are retained by size exclusion, supporting reduction or removal of bioburden from compatible gas streams. The cartridge is intended for process filtration applications that require a compact sterilizing-grade gas filter rather than a liquid-filter membrane. Store the units in a dry location and use compatible steam-sterilization and integrity-testing procedures when the process requires validated sterile service.
