Answer:The lamp is designed for atomic absorption measurement of calcium (Ca).
Answer:No. It is a calcium-specific source; magnesium analysis requires an appropriate magnesium or qualified multi-element source.
Answer:It is a 2-inch (50 mm) hollow cathode lamp intended for compatible PerkinElmer AA spectrometers.
The PerkinElmer Lumina™ calcium (Ca) hollow cathode lamp supports elemental calcium analysis with atomic absorption spectroscopy. The 2 in. (50 mm) single-element lamp supplies characteristic calcium radiation for compatible PinAAcle™ and AAnalyst™ spectrometers, allowing calcium atoms in the measurement cell to absorb the selected analytical line. Typical analytical workflows include suitably prepared water, food and material samples where a validated AAS method is available. Matrix components can affect calcium measurement, making correct sample preparation, calibration and instrumental conditions essential. Select the calcium hollow cathode lamp when the method specifically targets Ca rather than confusing it with a calcium/magnesium multi-element lamp. Confirm compatibility with the instrument's lamp mount and control system before installation. The lamp is a replaceable optical consumable and does not itself contain a calcium sample or reference solution.
