The trap can remove up to 135 mL of oxygen and has a maximum operating pressure of 250 psi (1,724 kPa). Its gas flow specification is 3 L/min at 32 psi (221 kPa). Positioning oxygen purification in the carrier-gas supply helps reduce oxygen exposure to the chromatographic system, including oxygen-sensitive columns. This device purifies gases rather than liquid samples.
