Answer:GS115 carries a his4 mutation and is histidine auxotrophic before complementation.
Answer:The parental GS115 strain is Mut+.
Answer:This configuration is supplied as one stab culture.
GS115 Pichia pastoris Yeast Strain is used as a host for recombinant protein expression when histidine-based selection or established Pichia workflows are required. The strain carries a his4 mutation and has a Mut+ His- phenotype before transformation. Its intact AOX1 gene supports normal methanol utilization, while the histidine auxotrophy enables selection with expression constructs that complement HIS4. GS115 can also be used with Zeocin-based vector systems when the appropriate expression construct is selected. Depending on the integration strategy, recombinant clones can retain the Mut+ phenotype or generate MutS derivatives if AOX1 is disrupted. This configuration is supplied as one stab culture for research use. The strain is widely suited to protein-expression screening, intracellular or secreted expression and comparison with alternative Pichia host backgrounds.
