The Thermo Scientific GeneJET RNA Purification Kit isolates total RNA from cells, tissue, blood, bacteria, yeast and selected reaction mixtures using silica spin-column purification. Cells or tissues are lysed, and RNA binds to the membrane under the specified buffer conditions while protein and other contaminants are removed by washing. The purified RNA is eluted in 50–100 µL of nuclease-free water for downstream RT-PCR, quantitative PCR, transcript analysis and sequencing library preparation. The 50-preparation kit contains GeneJET spin columns, collection tubes, proteinase K, lysis buffer, concentrated washing buffers and nuclease-free water. Thorough sample homogenization and RNase-free working practice are essential for intact RNA recovery. Prepare the concentrated wash buffers before the first use, and adjust sample input to the method limits rather than overloading the columns. This manual mini-scale kit is intended for research use and is not a diagnostic test.
