Serological tests are based on the fact that antibodies in serum, produced in response to exposure to bacterial antigens, will agglutinate with bacteria carrying homologous antigens.Serologically identify somatic O antigens of Salmonella strains by slide and/or tube agglutination tests for epidemiological and diagnostic purposes using Agglutinating Sera, Salmonella O.
• Rapid:Results within 1 minute.
• Simple, ready to use: Makes the procedure easy to implement and runThe genus Salmonella is classified in the Kauffmann-White Scheme into serotypes according to combinations of somatic (O) and flagellar (H) antigens, which are identified by agglutination tests^1. Agglutinating sera should be used in confirmatory tests but may also be used with appropriate caution in screening tests^2. These simple tests rapidly detect specific bacterial antigens for the identification, grouping and/or typing of Salmonella and other food-borne microorganisms. This incorporates agglutinating sera for the identification somatic O antigens of Salmonella (groups A-S), allowing the fast, accurate and reliable identification of Salmonella strains. Not all products are available for sale in all territories.
