RapiGest™ SF, is a innovative anionic surfactant that drastically improves in-solution protein digestion in terms of speed and peptide recovery. It is especially valuable in protein sample preparation for mass spectrometry (MS) analysis by avoiding high background noise often seen from other common surfactants.
RapiGest™ SF is available in a variety of formats. This part contains five, 1mg vials that contain enough material for 1-50 digestions. Add RapiGest™ SF to your proteolytic digestion, (using trypsin or other enzymes) to enhance digestion speed and increase peptide recovery.

Answer:Five vials are supplied, each containing 1 mg of solid surfactant.
Answer:It improves protein solubilization and enzymatic digestion while permitting subsequent acid-triggered surfactant breakdown.
Answer:No. It is an acid-labile surfactant used with a protease, not an enzyme that cleaves proteins.
Waters RapiGest™ SF is an acid-labile anionic surfactant for in-solution protein digestion before peptide analysis by mass spectrometry. It helps solubilize proteins and expose protease cleavage sites without strongly inhibiting common digestion enzymes. The presentation contains five separate 1 mg vials, allowing small-scale sample preparation with less repeated opening of bulk reagent. RapiGest SF is especially useful when hydrophobic protein regions or incomplete solubilization limit digestion efficiency. Following protein unfolding and proteolysis, acidification promotes surfactant hydrolysis so that digestion mixtures can be prepared for downstream liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry with reduced surfactant interference. The reagent is supplied as a solid and can be reconstituted immediately before use. Select surfactant concentration, digestion time and acid-cleavage conditions for the sample matrix and analytical method. This reagent supports digestion; it is not a protease, analytical column or protein standard.
