Answer:C8 offers lower hydrophobic retention, often reducing analysis time for compounds retained strongly on C18 phases.
Answer:It is a full 50 × 2.1 mm analytical UPLC column packed with 1.7 µm, 130 Å BEH C8 sorbent.
Answer:The specified operating window is pH 1–12 with a pressure limit of 18,000 psi (1,240 bar).
Waters ACQUITY UPLC BEH C8 is a short reversed-phase analytical column packed with 1.7 µm, 130 Å bridged-ethylene hybrid particles carrying trifunctionally bonded C8 ligands. Its 50 × 2.1 mm configuration supports rapid, high-efficiency UPLC separations and offers lower hydrophobic retention than comparable BEH C18 packing. The wide pH operating range of 1–12 allows optimization of ionization and selectivity during method development. This is a complete analytical column rather than a matching VanGuard pre-column. The published maximum pressure is 18,000 psi (1,240 bar); one column is supplied.
