Answer:The column is 2.1 mm in internal diameter and 100 mm long, packed with 1.7 µm BEH C18 particles.
Answer:No. Its 130 Å pore structure is optimized for peptide separations, rather than the larger pores commonly selected for intact proteins.
Answer:It uses reversed-phase C18 separation in compatible UPLC or UHPLC systems.
The Waters ACQUITY UPLC™ Peptide BEH C18 Column is a reversed-phase chromatography column optimized for separation of peptides in protein characterization and proteomics. It contains 1.7 µm ethylene-bridged hybrid C18 particles with 130 Å pores in a 2.1 mm internal-diameter, 100 mm-long column. The packing is quality-controlled for peptide separations and supports analysis of peptide mixtures in approximately the 1–15 kDa molecular-weight range specified for this column. The small-particle bed provides efficient separations when paired with an instrument rated for UPLC operating pressures. Typical workflows use aqueous and organic mobile phases with an acid modifier to control peptide retention and peak shape. Method development should consider solvent compatibility, sample loading, gradient slope and column temperature. Its 130 Å pore geometry is distinct from wide-pore columns designed for intact large proteins. The package contains one complete analytical column, not loose C18 packing material.
