Answer:It links bypass ports of the CM-A inlet and outlet switching valves, providing the designated bypass fluid route.
Answer:The tubing assembly has a 0.004-inch internal diameter.
Answer:Unexpectedly high pressure while the column manager is in bypass mode can indicate a clogged bypass tube.
The Waters ACQUITY CM-A bypass tubing assembly provides the dedicated bypass flow route within a compatible column manager. The stainless-steel assembly has a 0.004-inch internal diameter and links the bypass ports of the inlet and outlet switching valves. It allows liquid to follow the instrument's intended bypass plumbing rather than passing through a selected analytical column during the relevant valve operation. A clogged bypass tube can produce unusually high system pressure even when the column is bypassed, so maintaining an open, correctly routed connection is important for troubleshooting. Stop the pump, release fluid pressure and identify the bypass ports using the service diagram before removing the original tube. Install the replacement without twisting the valve bodies or contaminating the capillary ends. Flush and leak-check the bypass line under the instrument's prescribed maintenance procedure. A high-pressure observation in bypass mode is a diagnostic symptom to investigate, not proof that the analytical column itself is blocked. The assembly is a service component, not a separate chromatographic column.
