Answer:It connects the column outlet to the detector inlet in the designated Waters ACQUITY low-pressure flow path.
Answer:The replacement welded stainless-steel assembly has a nominal length of 22.5 inches.
Answer:Extra or mismatched post-column volume can increase band dispersion and affect chromatographic peak shape.
The Waters ACQUITY low-pressure stainless-steel tubing assembly connects a chromatography column outlet to the detector inlet in designated system configurations. The welded line has a nominal length of 22.5 inches and is intended for low-pressure downstream service, rather than for an arbitrary high-pressure injector line. Its predefined routing and connection geometry help preserve a consistent post-column flow path when replacing worn or blocked tubing. Because added post-column volume can contribute to band broadening, the correct tubing assembly and detector connection should be maintained during service. Stop the pump and depressurize the system before disconnecting the line. Remove the existing component without twisting the detector fitting, keep replacement ends clean and route the line without sharp bends or contact with hot or moving components. After reconnection, flush the system with a compatible mobile phase, inspect for leaks and compare baseline and peak shape against normal performance. Verify the destination detector and system configuration before installation.
