Answer:It is designed for compatible 2.1 mm ID × 10 mm guard cartridges.
Answer:No. It is guard-cartridge holder hardware.
Answer:It supports a replaceable guard element that can protect the analytical column from matrix contamination.
The Waters 2.1 × 10 mm guard cartridge holder kit provides hardware for installing compatible short guard cartridges ahead of an analytical liquid-chromatography column. A properly selected guard cartridge can retain sample particulates and strongly interacting contaminants, protecting the analytical stationary phase from premature fouling. This holder supports 2.1 mm ID, 10 mm cartridge and guard-column formats and is used within compatible Waters chromatographic connections. The holder can be disassembled for cartridge replacement and routine maintenance, enabling repeated use of the hardware while the packed protective cartridge is renewed. Applications include reversed-phase, biomolecule, and other LC workflows that have a corresponding compatible guard chemistry. The product is the holder kit, not an analytical column or a stationary-phase cartridge. Cartridge chemistry and dimensions must match the selected separation method.
